This policy covers netballexplained.com and its subpages. Netball Explained is a small, independently run content site. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible, and we're especially careful with content aimed at junior players and their parents — we don't run user accounts and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

Last updated: 20 August 2026.

Who this is

Netball Explained is operated as an independent reference site (see About). For any privacy question, contact [email protected].

What we currently collect

  • Standard web server logs. Like almost any website, our hosting provider automatically logs technical information for every request — things like IP address, browser/device type, the page requested and the time — for security and operational purposes (for example, spotting abuse or diagnosing outages). We don't cross-reference these logs with any other data to identify individual visitors.
  • Email you send us. If you email [email protected] — for a correction, a question or anything else — we use your message only to respond to you, per our contact page. We don't add you to a mailing list or share it with anyone else.

We don't currently set analytics or advertising cookies, run visitor tracking, or use any third-party scripts.

If we add analytics or advertising

The site's future plans include basic aggregated analytics (to see which pages are useful) and, later, display advertising — most likely Google AdSense — as its main source of support. Neither is live yet. When either is added:

  • Analytics would be aggregated (e.g. "this page got N views this month") — not used to build individual visitor profiles.
  • Advertising through Google AdSense uses cookies to serve and measure ads, which may include personalising ads based on your browsing. You'd be able to opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ads Settings, and general information on how Google uses data from sites that use its services is at Google's Partner Sites policy. Visitors in the UK/EEA would be shown a consent choice before any non-essential cookie is set.

This page will be updated with the specific provider(s) in use, and the date above will change, before any of this goes live — it won't happen silently.

What we don't do

We don't sell personal data, we don't run accounts, and we don't build profiles of individual children who visit the site. Content aimed at parents and junior players is written for the adults around the game, not designed to collect information from children.

Rules, competitions and history pages link out to official sources (World Netball, national associations, competitions). Once you follow an external link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not this one.

Your rights

You can ask what, if anything, we hold that relates to you (in practice, likely just an email thread) or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If how we collect or use data changes, we'll update this page and its "last updated" date above.
